Over the last number of weeks, NAV CANADA has contacted a number of customers and stakeholders to assist us in the identification of potential issues with some proposed changes associated with the Windsor, Toronto, Montreal Airspace and Services Review.

NAV CANADA will be hosting a conference call to review the risk analysis and mitigations derived from the issues and concerns which were raised through the consultation.

The Conference Call will be held on Friday July 11th, 2008, at 1:00 p.m.

I has the call-in info if you wish to be on the call.

Our main concern is this new airspace they are looking to implement:

"In addition, instead of expanding the 700’ AGL Class E airspace boundary around Toronto northward, we will establish a new Class E floor of 2,500’ ASL for all of southern Ontario, with a northern boundary at approximately highway 89 (but no further north than Barrie) and a Class E floor 3,500 ASL further north to the North Bay area (see map in the document)."

This will mean our tows can't go above 2,500'asl (around 1500'agl) due to UltraLights not being allowed to go into Class E airspace.

It will also require any pilot wishing to fly higher than 2,500'asl (off of tow) to have their HAGAR test written.

This seriously caps our abilities to tow to a comfortable release height.
